Winnings & Prize
Distribution Policy
This policy governs how prize pools are formed, distributed, and taxed on the PlayXcrew platform. Please read carefully before participating in any paid tournament.
Overview
PlayXcrew is an Indian skill-based online gaming tournament platform operated from Hyderabad, Telangana (registration pending). The platform facilitates competitive esports tournaments across popular mobile and PC titles where players compete on the basis of skill.
All tournaments on PlayXcrew involve real cash entry fees and real cash prize pools. Prizes are awarded exclusively based on in-game performance and final placement — outcomes are determined by skill, not chance.
By registering for any paid tournament on PlayXcrew, you agree to the terms set out in this Winnings & Prize Distribution Policy, our Terms of Service, and our Code of Conduct.
PlayXcrew complies with all applicable Indian laws including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Public Gambling Act (state-level exemptions for skill games), and the Income Tax Act, 1961 including Section 115BBJ.
Prize Pool Calculation
The prize pool for each tournament is primarily formed from entry fees collected from participating players. PlayXcrew may, at its sole discretion, supplement the prize pool with additional contributions ("top-up") to enhance the total payout.
Equal to the aggregate of all entry fees collected from registered participants for that tournament.
At PlayXcrew's discretion, an additional top-up amount may be added to the prize pool to increase total winnings. If a top-up is applied, it will be explicitly shown on the tournament detail page.
The total guaranteed prize pool and its breakdown are displayed prominently on each tournament's registration page before you confirm your entry. The prize pool figure shown is the gross amount before platform fee deduction and TDS.
⚠️ If a tournament is cancelled due to insufficient registrations or force majeure, all entry fees will be refunded in full to participants' wallets. Please refer to our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
Prize Distribution Structure
Prize money is distributed among the top finishers based on the distribution structure published on each tournament's page. The structure varies by tournament size and format. The following is an illustrative example only — actual splits are shown on each tournament's detail page before registration closes:
| Rank | Prize Share | Example (₹10,000 Pool) |
|---|---|---|
| 🥇 1st Place | 50% | ₹5,000 |
| 🥈 2nd Place | 30% | ₹3,000 |
| 🥉 3rd Place | 20% | ₹2,000 |
* The above example is illustrative. Actual prize splits, number of paid positions, and amounts differ per tournament and are disclosed on the tournament registration page. Multi-position payouts (e.g., Top 10) may also apply for larger tournaments.
For squad-based tournaments, the prize amount is divided equally among all confirmed squad members unless otherwise stated in the tournament rules.
Determining Winners
Winners are determined purely on the basis of in-game performance. PlayXcrew uses a combination of automated game data extraction and manual verification to ensure result accuracy and fairness.
Final placement is determined by a combination of kills, survival rank (finishing position within the match), and other in-game performance metrics as specified in the individual tournament rules. The exact scoring formula is published on each tournament's page.
Upon match completion, PlayXcrew collects game data via official game APIs, player-submitted screenshots, or in-game result reporting tools as applicable to each game title.
PlayXcrew administrators review submitted results and game data after match completion. Results are verified for accuracy, completeness, and the absence of prohibited behaviour (hacking, teaming, stat manipulation, etc.).
Final verified results are published in the tournament results section. PlayXcrew's decision on the final standings, following verification, is conclusive subject to valid disputes raised within the dispute window.
Players found to have used cheats, hacks, unauthorised third-party software, or any other prohibited means to alter game performance will be disqualified and may be permanently banned from the platform. Prizes for disqualified players will be forfeited.
Dispute on Results
PlayXcrew provides a structured dispute resolution process for players who believe tournament results are inaccurate or unfair.
Disputes must be raised within 24 hours of the official result announcement. Claims submitted after this window will not be entertained.
Navigate to the Dispute Centre, select the relevant tournament, and submit your claim with supporting evidence (screenshots, video recordings, etc.).
PlayXcrew will review and respond to disputes within 48–72 hours of submission. The decision of PlayXcrew's moderation team after review is final and binding.
If a valid dispute is raised before prize credit, the relevant prize amount(s) may be held pending resolution. Prizes will not be credited until the dispute is resolved.
Prize Credit Timeline
Once tournament results are verified by PlayXcrew administrators and any applicable dispute window has elapsed without a blocking dispute, prizes are credited promptly.
Prizes are credited to your PlayXcrew Winnings Wallet within 24 hours of result verification. In most cases, credit happens within a few hours of verification.
Prize amounts credited to your wallet will be net of applicable TDS (see Section 7 below). The gross prize, TDS amount deducted, and net amount credited will be visible in your wallet transaction history.
Delays may occur in cases of active disputes, technical issues, or pending KYC verification. PlayXcrew will notify affected users via in-app notifications.
TDS Deduction
📋 TDS Information
As per Section 115BBJ of the Income Tax Act, 1961, PlayXcrew deducts 30% TDS on net winnings from online gaming. Net winnings are calculated as: Prize Won − Entry Fee Paid. TDS is deducted before the winning amount is credited to your wallet. PlayXcrew will provide TDS certificates as required.
TDS is deducted at 30% on net winnings as mandated under Section 115BBJ of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (applicable from 1 April 2023). No threshold exemption applies — TDS is applicable on every winning amount.
Net winnings = Prize Amount Won minus Entry Fee Paid for that tournament. If the entry fee equals or exceeds the prize won, no net winnings exist and TDS is zero.
TDS is deducted by PlayXcrew at the time of prize credit. The net amount (after TDS) is credited to your PlayXcrew Winnings Wallet. Users are not required to pay TDS separately.
PlayXcrew will issue Form 16B or an appropriate TDS certificate annually (for the relevant financial year) to users who request it. Contact support@playxcrew.com for TDS certificate requests.
TDS deducted by PlayXcrew is deposited with the Income Tax Department and reflected in your Form 26AS / AIS. Users are responsible for declaring all gaming income in their annual ITR as per the applicable provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961. PlayXcrew recommends consulting a qualified tax advisor for individual tax guidance.
Correct TDS credit requires your PAN to be linked to your PlayXcrew account via our KYC process. Failure to complete KYC may result in TDS being deducted at a higher rate (up to 20%) as applicable under Section 206AA of the Income Tax Act.
Winnings Wallet
All tournament prizes (net of TDS) are credited to your dedicated PlayXcrew Winnings Wallet. Winnings Wallet balances are separate from your Deposit Wallet balance.
Withdrawal Eligibility: Only Winnings Wallet funds may be withdrawn to your bank account or UPI. Bonus/referral credits held in the Deposit Wallet are subject to separate wagering conditions and cannot be directly withdrawn.
Minimum Withdrawal: The minimum amount for a single withdrawal request is ₹100.
KYC Requirement: Full KYC verification (Aadhaar + PAN) is mandatory before processing any withdrawal. Withdrawals will be on hold until KYC is complete. Visit KYC Verification to complete your verification.
Processing Time: Withdrawal requests are typically processed within 24–72 business hours. Processing times may vary based on your bank or UPI provider.
Transaction Charges: PlayXcrew does not charge any transaction fees on withdrawals. Standard charges, if any, by your bank or payment provider are not within PlayXcrew's control.
Unclaimed Prizes
PlayXcrew credits prize amounts directly to the winner's Winnings Wallet automatically. No manual claim is required for standard tournament prizes. However, the following applies to stale or unclaimed balances:
Prize amounts that remain in a Winnings Wallet without any withdrawal activity or platform usage by the account holder for a continuous period of 90 days may be classified as unclaimed/dormant.
PlayXcrew will send at least two notifications (via registered email and/or in-app notification) before classifying any balance as forfeited. The user will have 15 days from the final notice to initiate a withdrawal or resume platform activity.
Balances that remain unclaimed after the above notice period may be forfeited and credited to PlayXcrew's platform account. PlayXcrew reserves the right to waive forfeiture at its discretion for genuine hardship cases.
To prevent forfeiture, ensure your registered email address is active and you log in to your PlayXcrew account at least once every 90 days.
PlayXcrew Platform Fee
PlayXcrew retains a platform fee (also called a "rake" or "service fee") from the prize pool of each tournament. This fee covers platform infrastructure, operational costs, payment processing, customer support, and ongoing development.
The platform fee percentage applicable to each tournament is disclosed on the tournament's detail page before you register. Registering for a tournament constitutes your acceptance of the fee applicable to that tournament.
The platform fee is deducted from the total entry fees collected before the prize pool is formed. The prize pool displayed on the tournament page is the amount available for distribution to winners (gross of TDS). PlayXcrew's platform fee is separate from TDS deductions.
Platform fees may vary across different tournament formats, games, and promotional events. PlayXcrew reserves the right to adjust the platform fee structure with reasonable notice to users.
PlayXcrew is committed to maintaining transparent and competitive fee structures. Any changes to the platform fee will be communicated via in-app announcements and updated on this policy page.
